The Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of inciting fighting on the basis of religion. The BJP has also been accused of alleged threats from the terrorist Al Qaeda network. He said if something happens, the BJP should take responsibility. A major controversy arose after the statements made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma regarding the Prophet Muhammad.

Reut said, “Everything is going well in the country, but the BJP spokesperson wanted to create a fight between members of two different religious sects. If anything happened in the country, the BJP would take responsibility. We will continue our work..but When are they going to recognize these people who are causing all this?”
