The BJP’s election preparations began with the announcement of Dhami’s name. The process of selecting a candidate for the congressional by-election Champawat is in its final stages. According to the sources, the Congress has so far secured the names of five contenders for the Champawat seat in the by-election. Himesh Kharkwal, a two-time former MLA and congressional candidate, is a naturally strong contender at the moment. However, Congress is also considering alternatives.
