RCB vs CSK IPL 2022: The Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 13 rounds in the 49th match of the IPL 2022 tournament. With this defeat, the Chennai Super Kings were almost out of the race for the qualifiers. This is CSK’s seventh defeat in the fifteenth season. Harshal Patel starred with Mahipal Lomror in this RCB win. Where Lemore scored an impressive innings of 41 passes, the team reached a score of 173. On the other hand, Harshal Patel took three wickets to restrict CSK to 160 innings. This is RCB’s first win after three consecutive losses. With this victory, Bangalore reached the fourth position, while Chennai took the ninth place.

RCB dry ended their victory

First hitting against Chennai Super Kings after suffering three straight defeats, RCB set a goal with 174 points ahead of CSK. Faf du Plessis (38) and Virat Kohli (30) gave the team a good start, adding 62 runs to the first wicket, but then the Spinners made a strong comeback from Chennai. Mahipal Lumore scored 42, Rajat Patidar 21 and Dinesh Karthik 26* to lead the team to this result. Moin Ali got two and Mahesh Tekshana got three wickets. Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 173 points in 20 increases for 8 wickets lost.

CSK falters after a good start

Chasing a goal 174 times, the Chennai Super Kings got off to a good start again by Ritouraj Gaekwad (28) and Devon Conway (56). But Robin Uthaba and Ryudu soon returned to the ward as Gaekwad was eliminated. Moeen Ali definitely scored 34 runs but couldn’t win the team.

RCB’s win made the qualifying race exciting

Looking at the points table, the Gujarat Titans with a score of 16 and the Lucknow Super Giants took first and second place with 14 points respectively. Both teams could easily qualify for the playoffs. In such a case, there is stiff competition between Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals for the remaining two places. RR and RCB each have 12 points, while SRH and PBKS are lower with 10 points each.
