The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project of China and Pakistan’s dream has vanished. Despite all efforts, work on this project is not progressing. According to recent reports, work on this project is behind schedule. So far only three of the 15 projects have been completed. Let us tell you that this road used to pass through Pakistan occupied Kashmir, so India also opposes it.
According to the Express Tribune, Pakistan has so far completed work on only three projects in Gwadar at a cost of $300 million. At present, there are more than ten unfinished projects, including water supply and electricity generation projects.
CPEC is a 3,000 km infrastructure project that will link Jinjiang in northwest China and the port of Gwadar in western Pakistan. While Jinjiang is a region dominated by Uyghurs, the port of Gwadar falls under the province of Balochistan. Officials associated with the corridor say work is being delayed due to some social and economic benefits in Gwadar.
