Delhi records 1,530 Covid cases, 3 deaths, positivity rate rises to 8 41 pc

On Sunday, 1,530 new coronavirus patients were registered in Delhi, and three patients died. At the same time, the infection rate rose to 8.41 percent. This is the fifth consecutive day that more than 1,300 cases of COVID-19 have been reported.

According to the Health Department’s Health Bulletin, 18,183 samples were tested the previous day. With the latest infection, the total number of Covid cases in Delhi so far has risen to 19,22,089, while the death toll has risen to 26,232.

On Saturday, 1,534 patients were found in Delhi, while the infection rate was 7.71 per cent and three patients died. On Friday, 1797 injuries were found, which is the highest number of cases in about four months, while the infection rate reached 8.18 percent.

Friday’s cases were the highest since February 4, when 2,272 patients were found and 20 people died. However, on February 4, the infection rate was 3.85 percent. Meanwhile, Sunday’s infection rate is the highest after January 28. The infection rate on January 28 of this year was 8.6 percent.

The national capital recorded 1,323 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths on Thursday, with a positivity rate of 6.69 percent. Despite the increase in the positivity rate, the city government is not implementing the Gradient Response Action Plan (GRAP) prepared by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority because the number of hospitalizations is low.

The GRAP came into effect in August of last year, and stipulates the measures to be taken by the government according to the positivity rate and bed-filling for various lock and unlock activities.
