DCGI has given permission to apply Corbevax as a coronavirus booster dose. This was announced by Biological E Limited. With this DCGI on December 28 last year allowed the vaccine to be used for adults for limited use in emergency situations.
Then, on March 9, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation approved the introduction of the Corbevax vaccine for children in the age group of 12 to 17 years, subject to certain conditions. Recently, Biological E Limited provided detailed data on its research to DCGI. After detailed discussion and testing by the expert panel, it was decided that Corbevax can be used as a booster dose. People who have taken Covaccine or KovidShield can also take Corbevax as a booster dose.
According to Biological E Ltd. So far, 51.7 million doses of Corbevax have been administered to children in India. According to the company, 17.4 million children received two doses of Corbevax. Significantly, in April of this year, DCGI recommended emergency use of the Covid-19 biological vaccine Corbevax for children aged 5 to 12 years.
