FADA April 2022 Champion of Retail Sales Data for Bajaj Tata Maruti Vehicles at the Top of Sectors – Indian Auto News


FADA Retail Automotive Data April 2022: The news is good. Or rather, very good. FADA, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), has released vehicle registration numbers for April 2022. After a long time, these numbers are reassuring. In fact, there has been tremendous growth in every segment of vehicle registration. This means that there has been year-on-year growth in all of the two-wheeler, three-wheeler, four-wheeler, commercial vehicle and tractor segments. 16,27,975 units were sold in April 2022 with an annual growth of 37.06%. In April 2021, 118,771 units were sold. The annual growth rate is 331.56% compared to April 2020. Let’s know what is the state of which sector and which company was the best in class.

37.99% annual growth in the two-wheeled vehicle segment
Although the auto industry has recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic, the two-wheeler sale has yet to take its name. However, in April 2022, two-wheeler retail sales grew 37.99% year-over-year. Last month, 11,94,520 units of the two-wheeler were sold. While 8,65,628 units were sold in April 2021 and 3,18,596 units in April 2020. This means that the two-wheeler retail sales were the best compared to the past two years.

Hero MotoCorp Limited is the number one retailer of two-wheeled vehicles. Last month, the company sold 4,10,722 units of the two-wheeler. Its market share reached 34.38%. Next, Honda ranked second in the top five, TVS in third, Bajaj Auto in fourth and Royal Enfield in fifth. Its market share was 24.67%, 15.08%, 10.08% and 3.94%, respectively.

Annual growth of 95.91% in the three-wheeler segment
Now talking about the 3-wheeler segment, it has had a growth of 95.91% YoY. Its retail sales were the best compared to the past two years. Last month, 42,396 units of the three-wheeled vehicle were sold. While 21,640 units were sold in April 2021 and 10,567 units in April 2020. Retail sales of tricycles increased by 301.21% compared to April 2020.

Bajaj Auto Limited is the number one retailer of three-wheeled vehicles. Last month, the company sold 13,377 units of the three-wheeler. Its market share reached 31.55%. Next, Piaggio (PIAGGIO) took second place on the top five list, YC Electric in third, Mahindra & Mahindra in fourth, and Atul Auto in fifth. Their market share was 10.38%, 4.45%, 4.17% and 3.09% respectively.

25.47% annual growth in the passenger car segment
Speaking of passenger car segment, it has had a growth of 25.47% YoY. Retail sales have been better compared to the past three years. Last month, 2,64,342 units of passenger cars were sold. While 2,10,682 units were sold in April 2021, 22,079 units were sold in April 2020 and 2,36,217 in April 2019. Retail sales of passenger vehicles increased by 1,097.26% compared to April 2020.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited was the number one retailer of passenger cars. Last month, the company sold 1,06,144 units of the three-wheeler. Its market share reached 40.15%. After that, Hyundai took second place in the top five list, Tata comes in third, Mahindra is in fourth, and Kia is in fifth.
Their market share was 14.40%, 13.75%, 8.44% and 6.35% respectively.

52.18% annual growth in the commercial vehicle segment
When talking about the commercial vehicle segment, it achieved a growth of 52.18% YoY. Its retail sales were the best compared to the past two years. Last month, 78,398 units of commercial vehicles were sold. While 51,515 units were sold in April 2021 and 20,284 units in April 2020. Retail sales of passenger vehicles recorded an annual growth of 286.50% compared to April 2020 and a growth of 52.18% year-on-year compared to April 2021.

Tata Motors Limited was the number one retailer of commercial vehicles. Last month, the company sold 33,581 units of commercial vehicles. Its market share reached 42.83%. Next, Mahindra and Mahindra were second in the top five list, Ashok Leyland in third, VE Commercial Vehicle in fourth, and Maruti Suzuki in fifth. Its market share was 21.50%, 15.67%, 6.95% and 4.45%, respectively.
