Finland’s accession to NATO would certainly pose a threat to Russia: the Kremlin


Finland’s president and prime minister told in a joint press release that Finland should apply for NATO membership without delay. The case of Russia erupted after this Finland statement. Agence France-Presse reported that the Kremlin said on the matter that Finland’s entry into NATO would certainly pose a threat to Russia. NATO President Stoltenberg said Finland’s entry into the alliance would be “smooth and swift”.

Will Russia deploy nuclear weapons?

Recently, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned the United States and the European Union that if Finland or Sweden decided to join NATO, Russia would deploy nuclear weapons near the Baltic states and Scandinavia. He said that such a move by Finland or Sweden would allow Rowe to deploy nuclear weapons in the region. Russia will seriously strengthen its ground forces and air defenses and deploy important naval forces in the Gulf of Finland.
