Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 52 rounds, KKR still in qualifying race for IPL 2022

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated the Mumbai Indians (MI) at DY Patel Stadium in Navi Mumbai. KKR beat Mumbai by 52 rounds to score its fifth win of the tournament. Meanwhile, this is the ninth defeat for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022. Mumbai has already been out of the race for the qualifiers, while the Kolkata team has maintained its hopes of making it to the qualifiers. KKR now has 10 points in their account and the team managed to go from ninth to seventh on the points table.

In this match, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won and decided to run first. The captain’s decision didn’t prove right at first, but Jaspreet Bumrah took five wickets to break KKR’s back. In such a situation, Kolkata scored 165 points for a loss of 9 wickets in 20 increases. The goal of 166 passes for the Mumbai Indians looked great when wickets kept dropping at frequent intervals from the team. Jaspreet Bumrah’s five-and-a-half-century share of Ishaan Kishan in the team did not work out.

Hitting first, KKR scored 165 points for losing 9 wickets in 20 overs based on 43 hits by Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer, 25 by Ajinkya Rahane and 23 by Rinku Singh. Jaspreet Pomerah got five wickets. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has played 51 roles for Mumbai tour. Aside from him, no batsman can score good runs. This was the reason why the Mumbai team faced defeat. If KKR wins the remaining two games by a large margin, the team will have chances to reach the playoffs.
