Mundka fire incident: PMO announced compensation of Rs 2-2 thousand for the dead and Rs 50-50 thousand for the injured


Mundka fire incident: A massive fire broke out in a four-storey commercial building near Mundka metro station in the capital, Delhi, on Friday. It was reported that 27 people died due to the fire and many more people were injured. A search and rescue operation is underway in the building. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal are also monitoring the situation.

On behalf of the Project Management Office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to have offered his condolences over the fire incident in a building near Mundka metro station in Delhi. Besides, from the Prime Minister’s National Assistance Fund (PMNRF), Rs 2 lakh for each of the relatives of the dead and Rs 50,000 for each wounded has been announced.

Mundka Fire: The NDRF is now taking over relief and rescue work

The building was completely burned down by the fire. Along with Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Service, NDRF is now also involved in relief and rescue work.

DCP (External) Sameer Sharma said the Delhi Police have arrested the owners of the building that caught fire near Mundka metro station in Delhi this evening, Harish Goyal and Varun Goel.

Police said more than 50 people had been safely evacuated from the building and it was feared that more people were trapped in the building. According to fire officials, they received information about the fire at 4.45 pm, after which more than 30 fire tenders were sent to the site.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday said he was deeply saddened by the death of several people in a building fire near Mundka metro station in the capital. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. The President said I wish the injured a speedy recovery.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also expressed their condolences for the loss of life in the fire incident at a building in Mundka district, West Delhi, and said they are in constant contact with the authorities. He was saddened by the accident.

Kejriwal wrote on Twitter, “Shocked and saddened to learn more about this tragic incident. I am in constant contact with those responsible. Brave firefighters are trying to put out the fire and save lives.”

“Deeply saddened by the loss of life in the Mundka fire incident in Delhi. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured,” Hardeep Puri wrote on Twitter.
