Music composer Santoor Maestro Pandit Bhajan Suburi passed away


Death of Pandit Bhajan Suburi: The death of famous Santoor pianist and composer Pandit Bhajan Suburi. He was undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital, Gurugram. Born in 1948, Pandit Bhajan Suburi was a resident of the Subur Valley in Kashmir. It belonged to the Sufiana gharana of Indian classical music.

Bhajan Suburi took her last breath at the age of 74. He gave his first performance in 1953 at the age of five. In his career spanning several decades, he has sung in Egypt, England, Germany and the United States.

She also studied music at the University of Washington
He learned Western classical music from the University of Washington and from his grandfather, Suburi, and his father, Shambhu Nath. In fact, Bhajan Sopori has also taught music in the University of Washington. Sopori was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1992 and the Padma Shri Award in 2004 for his contribution to Indian classical music.

It is worth noting that the legendary composer and santoor player Pandit Shivkumar Sharma died last month of cardiac arrest. He had been suffering from kidney related diseases for the past 6 months and was also on dialysis.
