After IPL 2022, the Indian team has to play a 5-match T20 series with South Africa at home. The five-match T20 International Series matches will start from June 9 and will run until June 19. However, prior to this series, Team India suffered a major setback as top-tier hitter Suryakumar Yadav was not determined to play in the T20 series due to injury. Suryakumar suffered an injury to his left arm ahead of India’s 11th match at IPL 2022 and was disqualified from the tournament. He sustained this injury on May 6th during the match against the Gujarat Titans.

Cricbuzz quoted sources as saying that the injured Suryakumar is likely to be out of the field for at least four weeks and in such a case, he could be out of the next T20 series against South Africa. After the IPL 2022 tournament ends on May 29, the Indian team will play five T20 matches against South Africa at home from June 9-19. The Mumbai team is already out of the race for the qualifiers, but Suryakumar has been full of color with the bat and has scored more than 300 runs this season with the help of three half-century.

Suryakumar had earlier missed some matches due to injury at the start of the 2022 Indian Premier League. He has yet to go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore after being injured again as it is believed that he will be examined in Mumbai.
