Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian forces forcibly transferred more than two million Ukrainian children to Russia. This includes children who have been taken from orphanages, taken with their parents, and separated from their families.
Ukraine cannot be occupied, says Zelensky
President Zelensky said in a video message that the purpose of this criminal policy is not only to rob people, but to erase people’s memories of Ukraine and leave them unable to return. He further said that Ukraine will punish the guilty but will show Russia on the battlefield that Ukraine cannot be occupied, our people will not surrender and our children will not become the property of the invaders.
243 children have been killed so far
Zelensky said 243 children were killed, 446 wounded and 139 missing in the war in the Russian-occupied territories. He said the number could be higher because his government was not aware of the clear position of the areas occupied by Russian forces. He mentioned the names of 11 children and reported their deaths.
