Yasin Malik is on hunger strike in Delhi Tihar prison has not been properly investigated

Yasin Malik, who is being held in Delhi’s Tihar prison, has been on hunger strike since Friday morning. Malik claimed that his case is not being properly investigated. Prison officials gave this information. Prison officials spoke to him to break the hunger strike and tried to persuade him. However, it hasn’t worked yet.

In April 2019, Malik was arrested by the National Intelligence Agency in connection with terrorist financing and separatist groups in Jammu and Kashmir. A year later, in March 2020, Malik and his six accomplices were indicted under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA), the Arms Act of 1959, and the Ranbir Criminal Act. This action occurred in the attack on 40 Indian Air Force personnel in Rawalpura on January 25, 1990.

Several cases have been registered against Yassin Malik
On May 25, the Delhi Court sentenced Yasin Malik to life imprisonment under the relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Earlier in 2017, Malik was convicted in a case related to terrorism and separatist activities in the Kashmir Valley. Meanwhile, on May 19, the National Intelligence Court in Delhi indicted him in the terrorism financing case.

Yasin Malik is the head of the banned Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in the terrorism financing case. It is worth noting that Rabaiya Saeed, daughter of the late Mufti Muhammad Saeed, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, recently appeared before a special court at CBI in connection with her kidnapping case in 1989. During this, he identified JKLF chief Yasin Malik and three others as having kidnapped him.
